Honoring a Rural Water Champion, Mr. Kent Evans
It is with a heavy heart that we let you know that the Rural Water family has lost a true champion. Mr. Kent Evans of South Carolina passed away early Monday morning after his fight with stage 4 pancreatic cancer. In true style, he not only aggressively fought this disease, but spent the last year embracing life to the fullest. The love of his life, Dana Kleinsasser, was by his side all the way. Please keep Dana and Kent’s family in your prayers at this difficult time.
Everyone that had the privilege to know Kent in his service at Rural Development in South Carolina, Kansas and in Washington, D.C. and more recently at Live Oak Bank, would agree that no one individual had more passion and drive to bring affordable water services to rural communities than Mr. Evans. He was a natural born leader that inspired individuals to stand up and do something for their nation and community, and he made a lasting impression.
Millions have benefitted from his service and dedication to this industry and to rural America. NRWA salutes Kent and his unselfish service to others.
The Pressley Funeral Home in Kingstree, South Carolina will be handling services.
