Remembering the Life and Legacy of Doug Anderton, a Rural Water Hero

Doug Anderton, former NRWA President and National Director from the great state of Georgia, passed away December 28, 2020. Mr. Anderton was an avid Rural Water supporter and advocate, serving through the Dade Water and Sewer Authority for 48 years. He served on the Georgia Rural Water Association Board of Directors since 1990 and was elected President of the GRWA Board in 1997. He served as the National Rural Water Association President from 2012 to 2014 and was a member of the NRWA Board of Directors since 1998.

Among his peers in the Rural Water Industry, Doug was known as a friend and source to give advice. Many who knew him knew of not only his love for the industry, but also his love for motorcycles, his friends, and most of all his family. His bright smile and welcoming manner will be dearly missed by all.

In honor of his many achievements and legacy within the Rural Water Industry, NRWA has put together a short video to remember Mr. Doug Anderton, and it can be viewed below.
