Giese Receives National Rural Water Association’s Training Specialist Peer Leadership Award!
The NRWA Peer Leadership Awards program was established to recognize the outstanding efforts of Rural Water Association representatives. Of all the Training Specialist across the Nation, Giese was selected as this year’s winner for his expertise in training and for helping so many water professionals keep pace with the new technologies and regulations affecting the water industry. Giese has been in the water industry for over 20 years, starting as an operator for a Sanitary District in 1980. He also worked as a Supervisor for the Sparta Water Department for five years. Giese has worked for Rural Water since it's inception in 1988. He started as a Water Circuit Rider before becoming a Program Specialist in 1996. Currently he holds the Position of Program Coordinator where in addition to conducting all of WRWA's EPA training sessions and providing onsite technical assistance, his duties also include complete oversight for all WRWA programs and field staff. Giese and his family currently reside in Sparta, Wisconsin. The National Rural Water Association is a federation of 48 State Rural Water Associations serving over 24,558 water and wastewater utility members in 49 states with additional programs in Honduras and Puerto Rico. NRWA members form a solid foundation for Team Rural Water. Upholding the motto of “Quality On Tap!” Rural Water Associations provide small communities in every state with management and technical resources to supply safe and affordable water. ###
