Rural Water Background Screening Services

We are pleased to announce this service of State Rural Water Associations to provide background screening and other services from the worlds leading investigative firm,  Kroll Inc.  In the aftermath of 9-11 and to reduce potential liability in the employee hiring process, we strongly encourage background screening of all employment candidates.   

This service, offered by the Kroll's Background Screening division, will provide rural water members access to credible and reliable background screening that complies with all applicable privacy laws and protects the employee and the employer."

Kroll's investigators verify the qualifications of job candidates and identify resume discrepancies using techniques that comply with the latest employment and privacy laws.

Background Investigations:

Kroll investigates job candidates at all levels from senior management and executives to government employees and utility personnel.  To reduce client costs and turnaround time, Kroll has pioneered a secure Web-based system that collects information from candidates and provides clients with updates and final reports.

Substance Abuse Testing

Kroll combines industry standard testing methodologies with forensic-quality substance abuse testing expertise to ensure accurate results and superior service and support.  Procedures exceed the certification requirements mandated by all federal and state regulatory bodies, including those of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the industry's benchmark certification.

What we provide:

  • Training on collection protocols to ensure donor privacy and specimen integrity
  • Initial screening performed through immunoassay, and all non-negative test results confirmed by Gas Chromatography / Mass Spectrometry (GC / MS)
  • Adulterant testing to determine if a donor has attempted to alter a specimen
  • Meaningful  statistical data to evaluate the testing program
  • Point of collection testing that provides immediate preliminary results and confirmations at Kroll's SAMHSA-certified lab

Though the ideal background search for your employees depends on a number of factors, Kroll recommends the following base set of services for all of your applicants:

•     Social Security Trace & Address Locator
•     U.S. Criminal Records Indicator Search
•     Criminal Record Searches (of Applicants’ previous 7 years of residence history)

 If an applicant will be working in financial services role, Kroll suggests that you add the following services to the base services: 

•     Motor Vehicle Driving Record
•     Federal Criminal Records Search
•     Employment Verification
•     Education Verification

If an applicant will be working as a field worker, Kroll suggests that you add the following services to the base services:

•     Motor Vehicle Driving Record
•     Employment Verification
•     Education Verification
